SEPTIC SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
A Septic System will serve a home satisfactorily only if it is properly designed, installed, and adequately maintained. First, the sludge that accumulates in the bottom of the tank must be pumped out periodically. How frequently depends of the size of the tank, and the use it gets. If not pumped out, it will eventually overflow into the soil absorption area (drain field/leech bed). This will clog the system, and it will need to be replaced at an enormous expense and inconvenience.
Some warning signs of a septic system failure are: sluggish drainage into the home, plumbing backups, gurgling sounds in the pipe and drains, outdoor odor, mushy ground or greener glass in the area of the septic system.
The second part of the septic system maintenance involves the bacteria necessary for solids digestion. If bacteria-killing products are used in the home (bleach, detergents, disinfectants) the bacteria must be replenished. Adding a BIOFORCE pre-measured packet each month to your septic system, will effectively liquefy the organic waste solids and grease to promote proper system functioning between septic pumping.
